Before I begin, let me warn you that this event gets booked up REALLY quickly!
The Women of the World Festival (WOW) returns to the Southbank Centre next month. Last year I missed out on the 'Weave vs Natural' debate, hosted by Hannah Poole (Writer/Journalist), but fortunately I was able to watch the video >here< and ended up writing a few thoughts in relation to it.
The Politics of Afro hair was such a popular part of the event that it's being repeated with a new panel this year including:
- Angel Dike (The Natural Lounge)
- Sandie Okoro (Chief Legal Consultant at HSBC)
- Natalie Clue (Beauty Pulse London)
- Me - Crystal Afro
As well as the debate, I'm especially excited about working with Angel Dike (TheNaturalLounge.com) to bring you a Natural Hair Meet Up as part of the WOW Festival. The Natural Lounge was the first UK natural hair blog I ever read/subscribed so it's an absolute honour to be working with Angel.
The meet-up and the debate are free but because they're part of WOW, they're only open to festival attendees, and it's first come first serve, so get your ticket quickly. For more info head over to the Southbank website >here<.
